What is happening to me when I can no longer stop my urine from flowing?
There are tiny muscles that act like a clamp to constrict the urethra until you decide to urinate. With age it is common to start losing muscle tone and since these are tiny, little muscles you notice it here first.
Why can't I make the little muscles clamp down when I try to do the Kegel exercises?
Muscles require electricity to contract. This electricity comes from nerves in your back, but the power plant is in your brain. With age and/or injury the power output can be decreased. It is like someone turned the dimmer switch down and now everything suffers.
How can I make my brain send more power to my little muscles?
There is a specific part of the brain that controls all muscle tone in your body. When you do brain exercises with a Neurofeeback computer it can increase the energy going to all of your muscles, including the ones that control your urinary bladder sphincters. As your brain gets more in balance, it works better so the rest of you does too.
What is Neurofeedback?
It is an exercise with a space age technology computer that can interpret your brain wave signals instantaneously and in that same instant play a feedback game with your brain to get it back into balance.

Successes:
"I was in my early 70s and found myself in many embarrassing situations because of my inability to control my urine. I wore pads and often they weren't enough precaution. I dreaded going out in public because I always needed to be close to a restroom. I felt frustrated and helpless. I couldn't stand the thought of having to wear "diapers", but I was concerned that it would come to that.
After doing the Neurofeedback I don't have to rush to the restroom all the time because I am better able to control my bladder. No more big embarrassments for me thanks tot he training sessions"-G.B.
"At 42 I had a hysterectomy and within a year I started noticing I could not control my urine. I could feel it ooze out whenever my bladder got full. I could no longer do the Kegel exercises. It was like the muscles were paralyzed. I had to wear pads because I found myself leaking before I could even get to the toilet.
I was elated when the Neurofeedback gave me back my control. I can do the Kegel exercises like before. No runs, No drips, No errors!!!? -J.L.
