Frequently Asked Questions
Are all patients treated the same way?
No. Dr. Lewis uses her Body Detective analysis to evaluate the underlying causes of each patient’s health concern and develops an individual course of care. Each chiropractic adjustment builds on the one before. The resulting recommendations are based upon years of training and experience. Each patient’s care is uniquely different from every other patient.

Do you take x-rays?
Dr. Lewis does not take x-rays in her office. Her Body Detective analysis does not require x-rays. If she feels that you need x-rays she will refer you to a state of the art imaging center to take digital x-rays which are safer.
Do children really benefit from Chiropractic care?
Since significant spinal trauma can occur at birth, many parents have their newborns checked for vertebral misalignments. Naturally, chiropractic adjusting procedures are adapted for the child’s spine. Many childhood health complaints can be traced to blocked energy flow within the nervous system. Health problems that emerge in adulthood could often be prevented by being treated by a chiropractor early on. Parents report that their children enjoy their chiropractic adjustments and are healthier than their peers.

Is Non-Force Chiropractic safe?
Yes. Chiropractic has an excellent safety record. It is the result of a conservative and natural approach to health that avoids invasive procedures or addictive drugs. There is some concern that twisting and cracking the neck can cause stroke. Dr. Lewis never twists the neck and cracks it. She works with the neck in a neutral position, works with the muscles and gently taps the bones back in place when needed.
Is it OK to see a Chiropractor when I’m pregnant?
Absolutely! Pregnant mothers find that chiropractic adjustments improve their pregnancy and make delivery easier for themselves and their baby. Dr. Lewis has a special pillow that allows mom to comfortably lie face down for treatment. Dr. Lewis has helped breach babies to turn on their own so mom could have an easy natural birth instead of a cesarean surgery.
Can a person who had back surgery be treated successfully?
Yes. It’s an unfortunate fact that up to half of those who had spinal surgery experience a return of their original symptoms months or years later. Dr. Lewis uses her Body Detective analysis to determine the source of the pain – which may not have been addressed by the surgery.
